Our Creative Process

The 5 A's

Here is a look at our creative process — the framework we use as a guideline for every successful campaign.

01
Approach

Formally known as Pre-production — but it's much more than that. This is the most critical step in the entire process. It's not a Plan of Action, rather a Plan to Action.

We spend time with you listening to your ideas, learning your brand, and observing the competition. We move from concept, to script, to storyboard — taking your input and feedback as we go.

Once you're satisfied with the concept, we take care of:

  • Casting
  • Location Scouting
  • Props & Wardrobe
  • Permits & Scheduling

02
Action

(Lights and Camera come before Action!)

This is when we commit the concept to the digital film medium. It's the most fun and exciting part of the entire process.

We work with state-of-the-art cameras, high-end lenses, modern lighting, and professional sound recording tools to deliver the best product possible. You will also have the Director on set working with the cast & crew to pioneer the project shot-to-shot and day-to-day.

03
Assemble

Every shot captured during the Action step is backed up — and backed up again. We use enterprise-level backup solutions to ensure all footage is redundant in both physical and cloud-based locations.

Editing begins immediately as we build the Rough Cut. After review we maintain open communication and work with your feedback. We then move to the Fine Cut — where colour grading, voice-over, sound design, graphics, and animations lead to a broadcast-ready final product.

04
Actuate

The product is complete — you have your content ready. Now you need to get it in front of your audience.

Through communication, we plan a strategy for release which will motivate your customers to contact you. Part of this plan is created during the Approach phase.

Additionally, we provide archival options and can deliver your content in virtually any format. Every project maintains a modular build so you can revisit and add or remove features based on your evolving needs.

05
Advance

A great campaign doesn't end at delivery. The best content grows over time — generating leads, building brand equity, and opening new opportunities.

We stay connected with our commercial clients as long-term creative partners. Whether it's a second phase of content, a new product launch, or a refresh of existing material — Captivate is ready to advance your story.
